Days of our Lives is bringing out the big guns: Thaao Penghlis, who's known for his roles as Tony and Andre DiMera, is back to the show -- on contract.
The actor took to Twitter today with the news, telling fans, "I cannot tell how great it was going back to DOOL set on contract & be embraced by so many. As [executive producer] Ken Corday said, 'Welcome back to the family.'"
Penghlis, who most recently played General Hospital's Victor Cassadine, has played both DAYS' Tony and Andre on and off since 1981. As fans may recall, Andre killed himself in an attempt to frame Shawn (Frank Parker) in 2009. Meanwhile, Tony died during an altercation with Philip at the pier that same year.
