DAYS' Christie Clark and Austin Peck returning

Whoa, baby! Fan favorites Christie Clark (Carrie Reed) and Austin Peck (Austin Reed) are making a grand comeback to Days of our Lives.

Huge news about Days of our Lives today: mega popular stars Christie Clark and Austin Peck are reprising their roles as Carrie and Austin Reed.

The supercouple will be back in Salem in early 2017, Soap Opera Digest reports, with Clark exclaiming the show "is the gift that keeps on giving for me."

Longtime fans of the show watched Clark start her career on DAYS when she joined as a child actress in 1986. The last time she returned to Salem was for a short stint from 2011 to 2012. "Thirty year of fun, drama and love in the afternoon!" she enthuses of her history with the NBC series.

Peck (ex-Brad Snyder, As the World Turns; ex-Rick Powers, One Life to Live) joined DAYS in 1995 as a recast for Patrick Muldoon and played the part until 2002 with a follow-up run from 2005 to 2006. Muldoon reprised the role he originated in 2011 and was last seen as the character in 2012.

There's no word yet on what brings Carrie and Austin back to Salem, but fans of the show know that when the popular pair in on the canvas, all is right with the world.
