Jason Cook headlines Lifetime's Girlfriend Killer

Days of our Lives and General Hospital alum Jason Cook headlines a new creepy Lifetime movie called Girlfriend Killer... and it doesn't exactly seem like his character will be warm and cuddly.

Days of our Lives alum Jason Cook (ex-Shawn-Douglas Brady) stars in the new original movie Girlfriend Killer premiering Thursday, June 1, on the Lifetime Movie Network (LMN). If the movie title is any indication of the drama that will play out on-screen, let's just say we're dying to tune in.

Here's a synopsis of the film from a press release: Beautiful, innovative entrepreneur Carmen Ruiz (played by Barbie Castro) has created a successful online service that helps wealthy men plan romantic marriage proposals and then films them as a keepsake. But when one of her clients, Emerson Banes (played by Cook), proposes to his girlfriend Marissa (Elisabetta Fantone, South Beach), the unexpected happens. Marissa confesses to Emerson that she's been having an affair and is in love with someone else. Shocked, Carmen gives Emerson his money back and does her best to console him. Mistaking sympathy for interest, Emerson develops an obsession with Carmen, and when she rejects his advances, terrible things begin to happen.

Don't you just hate it when that happens?!

In addition to starring in the movie, Castro is also co-executive producer on the project. Girlfriend Killer premieres Thursday, June 1, at 8pm ET/PT on LMN. It will air again on June 17 at 10pm ET/PT on Lifetime.

If the movie title sounds familiarm it's because earlier this year, DAYS alum Kate Mansi (ex-Abigail Deveraux) headlined Boyfriend Killer. If you missed that movie the first time around -- you're in luck. Boyfriend Killer will be rebroadcast immediately following the premiere of Girlfriend Killer at 10pm ET/PT.

If you can't wait to see the movie, check out the trailer below. Spoiler alert: Cook's character is c-r-e-e-p-y.
