Get ready for the scare of your life because Days of our Lives star Vanessa Williams (Valerie Grant) is back in the new version of Candyman, the 1992 horror film she starred in opposite Virginia Madsen.
The trailer just dropped for the modern reboot written by Jordan Peele, and it's not for the faint of heart. As in the original, the terrifying thriller tells the story of an artist named McCoy (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) who is fixated on a mysterious hook-handed killer called Candyman. Urban legend has it that if you say Candyman five times while looking in the mirror, he appears in the reflection and kills you. That's scary enough, but things get really creepy when a group of girls does just that, which results in Candyman's mysterious wrath becoming real. As a series of slayings ensues, McCoy becomes more and more obsessed with Candyman, basing his art installations on the elusive killer and daring his viewers to say his name, too.
Additional stars of the Candyman sequel -- due out in theaters on Friday, June 12 -- include Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Colman Domingo, and Tony Todd, who returns as Candyman.
