Could Justin Kiriakis finally be getting some well-deserved front-burner storylines again?! Days of our Lives puts portrayer Wally Kurth back on contract, meaning the sky's the limit.

Fans of Days of our Lives character Justin Kiriakis may be treated with lots and lots more material for the Salemite, because the NBC soap opera has decided to put portrayer Wally Kurth back on contract!

The actor reportedly mentioned his new contract status during an episode of a podcast in 2019, and eagle-eyed fans saw the change reflected on-screen during the credits that rolled for the Tuesday, March 3, episode. As reported by DAYS site Jason 47, his last episode in a recurring position was February 28.

Kurth originally joined DAYS in 1987 and played the character on contract until 1991. He returned to the NBC soap opera in 2009 and has been playing Justin in a recurring capacity -- while also recurring on General Hospital as Ned Ashton. Now that he's on contract at DAYS, some soap fans may be concerned about whether or not he'll continue to pop up in Port Charles. Neither DAYS nor Kurth has revealed if he'll be able to juggle both DAYS and his role as GH's Ned, but soaps.com reports that the actor will be keeping his GH gig.

News of Kurth's bumped-up status at DAYS comes hot on the heels of the report that Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe Lane) is returning to the soap opera and has also been placed on contract. Meanwhile, actors like Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez), Chandler Massey (Will Horton), and Freddie Smith -- who played Kurth's on-screen son, Sonny Kiriakis -- have been let go.

In addition to likely being seen more on DAYS, Kurth can also be seen in the upcoming film A Deadly Bridenapping, which is tentatively scheduled for a summer 2020 release. The film also stars Camila Banus (Gabi Hernandez, DAYS), Brittany Underwood (ex-Langston Wilde, One Life to Live), and Dana Sparks (ex-Grace Bennett, Passions).
