Days of our Lives' "Cin" fans are about to see all that sexy, sexy sizzle between Ben and Ciara come to a fizzle. Actress Victoria Konefal is set to exit the NBC soap opera.
Konefal's exit has been rumored for several weeks, but the actress finally made it official in a statement to Deadline.
"I cherish every moment I have spent working on Days of Our Lives. It is an honor and a privilege to work in an environment filled with so much talent and passion in every direction," Konefal said. "The experience and knowledge Iíve accumulated over the past three years is irreplaceable, and Iím forever grateful for it. I would love the opportunity to continue working with my castmates in the future, but at this time I will not be returning as a full-time cast member."
The New York native stepped into the role of Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Bo's (Peter Reckell) daughter in 2017 and shot to major fame with DAYS fans when her character was coupled with Robert Scott Wilson's Ben Weston. The Łber popular pairing -- so hot and steamy, it received the nickname "Cin" -- was supposed to get married this week. Unfortunately, a bomb derailed their nuptials -- and Konefal's exit means that Ben and Ciara probably won't be having a happily ever after no matter what happens in the days and weeks ahead!
Konefal's exit news comes hot on the heels of the shocking announcement that Kristian Alfonso has decided to step away from the role of Hope, which she has been playing since 1983. There's nothing to indicate that the fictional mother/daughter pair's exits are related, though rumor has it that like Alfonso, Konefal made the decision to leave DAYS on her own.
2020 has been a tumultuous year for DAYS when it comes to casting. In addition to Konefal and Alfonso, other exits that have been announced since the NBC soap opera was renewed for a 56th season include Casey Moss (ex-J.J. Deveraux), Galen Gering (Rafe Hernandez), Chandler Massey (Will Horton), Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis), Kate Mansi (Abigail Deveraux), and Greg Vaughan (Eric Brady).
Fortunately, sources say that despite Konefal is open to making guest appearances in the future. Wilson, the actress' on-screen love interest, is expected to stay in Salem.
In addition to DAYS, Konefal's credits include a guest spot on Modern Family and a film called Deadly Exchange that also stars Lindsay Hartley (ex-Cara Castillo, All My Children; ex-Arianna Hernandez, DAYS; ex-Theresa Lopez, Passions), Jason Shane-Scott (ex-Will Rappaport, One Life to Live), and Cynthia Watros (ex-Kelly Andrews, The Young and the Restless; ex-Annie Dutton, Guiding Light). Konefal will also be in the upcoming horror film Living Dead Presents: Fog City, which is set for release in October of 2021.
