"It's a bummer Eve got caught," says Kassie DePaiva, who makes her final appearance as the love-to-hate Days of our Lives villainess today.

Days of our Lives fans say goodbye to Eve Donovan today, with portrayer Kassie DePaiva bidding fans a farewell on what she says is her final air show.

The actress took to Twitter with a message to fans, writing, "It's a bummer #Eve got caught. Today's my final air show ⁦@nbcdays⁩. Thank you ⁦@carlivatiron⁩ for this chance have fun in Salem. Thank you #Days fans for always taking a ride with this character's journey... no matter how bumpy."

DePaiva returned to Salem for a short story arc this summer in which Eve tortured her daughter's murderer, Ben Roberts (Robert Scott Wilson). Like always, it was delicious fun to watch DePaiva's work -- even though loving the character is questionable.

"Eve is an interesting and challenging character to bring to life," DePaiva concurred last year. "As you know, actors don't get to write their own storylines. It is always a challenge and a delight to open the scripts and see where the writers are taking the story. My hope is that you enjoyed the journey because I certainly did."

DePaiva took on the character of Eve Donovan in 2014, having previously won the hearts of daytime fans as One Life to Live's Blair Cramer, which she played from 1993 to 2013, and Guiding Light's Chelsea Reardon, which she played from 1986 to 1991.

What are your thoughts on Kassie DePaiva's DAYS exit? What did you think about her short summer return storyline? We want to hear from you -- and there are many ways you can share your thoughts.
