Little Johnny DiMera is returning to Salem, but he isn't so little anymore! Days of our Lives has cast actor Carson Boatman to play an older version of E.J. and Sami's son.

Days of our Lives fans got a lot of shocks in the NBC soap's recent summer preview teaser, one of which is the exciting news that Johnny DiMera has been SORAS'd and will be back in Salem this summer, now being played by actor Carson Boatman.

The video clip (below) shows Johnny reuniting with his sister Allie (Lindsay Arnold), who, as longtime fans know, is Johnny's twin via a very soapy situation: Sami slept Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) and was coerced into sex with E.J. (then James Scott) on the same night and was impregnated by both of them! Lucas is Allie's dad, while E.J. is Johnny's.

Speaking of E.J., he's also heading back to the canvas (this time played by actor Daniel Feuerriegel), so this summer is going to be a huge DiMera family affair. And by affair, we obviously mean the eventual unearthing of the one that Sami has been carrying on with Lucas! Let's hope she doesn't also sleep with E.J. the second he drops back on the scene, or we might have yet another twins with different fathers moment on our hands!

There's no word yet on when Carson Boatman will make his debut as Johnny, but it's bound to be soon. The actor is new to daytime but starred in the TV movie Stalked by My Doctor and in several short films, having produced one called Off the Court. He's also a country music singer and has released singles titled "Buddies," "Country," and "Peach Tree" -- all of which you can listen to on Spotify.
