Late last week, my computer crashed. Because of this I have been unable to do some of the major updating that I usually do on a daily basis. Please know that I am working as quickly as possible to remedy this situation. Compaq, my computer's maker, has been quite unwilling to help expedite the fixing on my PC and therefore this inconvenience has gone on much longer than it should have. Monday through Wednesday's recaps will appear on the pages as soon as possible. I am currently unable to retrieve my Email... so as soon as I can, everything will be back to normal. Thursday and Friday's recaps are, however, online.

Please hang in there during this difficult time. As I said, everything will be back to normal just as soon as possible.

At the DiMera mansion Roman is glad Eric will be here for his sisters, and when Roman says Carrie and Mike might be getting married soon Eric asks him who told him that? Roman tells him that Sami told him that, and that Carrie told him she is very happy. Downstairs Austin sees Mike comforting Carrie and thinks he's lost her already so why tell her about the annulment.

Carrie goes upstairs to see her dad as does Caroline. Carrie tells him he should get some rest, and Caroline offers to stay with him. Carrie and Eric leave, and Eric asks her how she feels about Austin. Carrie says she loves Austin, but only told Roman that she's happy with Mike so he can be happy. Eric is angry that everyone is keeping stuff from him, but Carrie says they only want him to be happy. Carrie then says she's so glad Austin didn't hear her talking about Mike because it could be a disaster.

Eric is still confused as to why Sami would say such a thing and Carrie says she believes Sami has her memory back and is scheming again. Carrie tells Eric he wasn't here to see the change in her, and Eric says he was hoping the sweet Sami was back. Carrie says that he's the only one who can since Sami's true feelings and asks him to find out the truth.

Meanwhile Sami is panicking because she just knows Eric will figure out she has her memory back and then she'll lose Austin. Lucas says if she can fool him than Carrie and Mike are over. Sami says it doesn't matter, when Eric looks at her and talks face to face with her he will figure it out, then he'll tell Carrie. Lucas says that maybe Eric wouldn't rat her out, but Sami says he's always been close to Carrie and if he has to choose sides he will chose Carrie.

Mike comes in and asks them what is wrong and Sami says with everything going on she's tired and decides to go lie down. Mike tells Lucas he's knows he's up to something and tells Lucas not to make any moves on Carrie. Lucas says he should worry about protecting himself because it's obvious he's falling for Carrie. Lucas leaves and Carrie comes downstairs and says that hopefully Eric will help them learn the truth. Austin shows up and Carrie introduces him to Eric. Eric then tells Carrie that he will help her.

Eric goes into the next room where Sami is with Lucas. Eric says he'd like to talk to her about her, and she says her life is pretty boring. Sami says she'd love to show him pictures of Will. Sami says she's tired and needs to sit down and Eric asks her if the pain is bad and Sami says sometimes it's so bad she can scream, but she doesn't want Austin to know. Eric says that they used to kid about forgetting things when they were little but when you lose 4 years of your life it's not funny. Sami says it's horrible and Eric decides to leave her to rest. Eric returns to the other room and he tells Carrie he definitely senses something. Eric says he senses she's in terrible pain, and Carrie is upset that she's fooled him as well. Austin is angry and says a lot of people have secrets.

Back in the other room Lucas says all Eric picked up on was that she was in pain and Lucas says this twin connection must be phony since Sami hasn't been in pain for awhile. Sami says yes she was and shows Lucas her hand, she's cut it with something.Sami says that it was the only way she could fool Eric, if she didn't mask her true feelings with pain he'd figure everything out. Lucas tells Sami she's sick and can't keep doing this forever, but Sami says she'll do anything it takes to hold onto Austin.

Back in the other room Eric tells Carrie he's sorry he couldn't help but he really only sensed pain. Austin tells Carrie that he doesn't think Sami has her memory back, and Austin goes into see Sami. He tells her if she's in pain to tell him, he doesn't; want any secrets between them. An upset Carrie runs out of the house and Mike goes after her. Bo's search for Billie goes on, but at first produces no new leads. Bo is less concerned, knowing that King's syndicate is in Britain and not in Rome, but he still wonders what could have happened to Billie. Then Marcello produces a lead saying that a woman matching Billie's description has been seen in a nearby township. As he drives, after calling Kate and Austin to tell them the news, Bo remembers driving that same road with Hope and her making him promise never to drive this road without her. Bo apologizes to Hope in his thoughts, but knows that when the whole nightmare is over, they can concentrate on working things out.

But Billie is getting worse. She awakens in the hotel room to find herself unbound and alone, but the hallucinations about Bo and Curtis continue to haunt her. She visualizes Bo finding her and turning away in disgust when he sees the needle tracks on her arm. In her mind, Curtis laughs at her for trying to escape her demons and says she's not worthy of love from anyone but her daddy, a junkie himself.

Abe and Lexie Carver go to the DiMera mansion to visit Roman, and Lexie says she has some questions for Kristen. Abe assures her she doesn't need to worry that she'll turn out like Stefano, but Lexie insists she still has to talk to Kristen. At the mansion, they find things in turmoil. Abe's visit with Roman goes well, and he and Marlena and Roman manage to laugh about old times, but Roman puts Marlena on the spot by asking her if she still feels the same way. She laughs off the question and goes to get medication. She learns from Carrie that they are lying to Roman about Carrie being with Mike and Sami being happy with Austin, but agrees that it would be best not to disturb Roman. She goes to get some antibiotics Mike delivered from the ISA to give to Roman, saying that even if it doesn't help him, she does not want him to die without trying everything. Once again, while she is injecting him, Roman asks her what her feelings for him are. Marlena goes out and tells John that maybe it's time for them to tell Roman the truth. But when Marlena goes in, Roman tells her how much he needs her, especially in his final days, and Marlena promises she'll be there for him. John, listening, knows she doesn't have the heart to disillusion him - and Kristen, listening from another door, laughs in triumph.

Things are heating up for Sami as Eric realizes that her pain was somehow a ruse and she is hiding something. But in true Sami fashion, she turns the tables on him by making him feel guilty for being away through all their crises, and asks him what he's hiding that's kept him away for so long. Then Kate, Abe, and Lexie come in and introductions and reunions give Sami the out she needs. Kate is ecstatic to meet Eric because she hopes he'll give Carrie the information she needs. But Eric tells Carrie when he meets her outside that Sami read him better than he could read her, and that she turned the tables. While they are talking, Eric mentioned that Roman is dying and Sami, coming to find Carrie, overhears. She immediately becomes agitated and refuses to be comforted by Marlena, and just asks Austin to take her and Will home. Carrie and Eric go home, too, and outside of their apartments, Carrie and Austin share a longing look before they have to part. Carrie cries on Eric's shoulder, noticing that he seems strangely calm about the whole mess. Eric tells her enough tears have been shed already. In her apartment, a distraught Sami vows she will never let Will lose his "father" Austin and that no one will ever find out that Lucas is really Will's dad.

Stefano watches the whole proceedings with amusement and triumph, especially when Lexie confronts Kristen about Stefano's plans and whereabouts. Kristen plays dumb, but tells Lexie she doubts Stefano will leave her alone. Lexie leaves, disturbed. Stefano also watches as John and Kristen have words and John tells Kristen he will never love a woman as deceitful as she is. Later, Stefano watches Marlena and John together, laughing that somehow, some way, Marlena will belong to him and John will have nothing.

Bo makes it to the Amalfi Coast, only to find that the lead on Billie was a case of mistaken identity. The woman he sees tells him that she has not seen anyone resembling Billie. Bo is upset, wondering what happened to Billie, and Kate is even more upset when Bo calls to tell her. Bo tells her he's arranging a full-scale search with the Roman police, and Kate says that could take days, but Bo says he's not leaving until he finds Billie.

Billie is furious that Max got her hooked on drugs again, and she is nearly out of her mind with the symptoms of withdrawal as she fights the urge to take more pills. When Max returns to the room, she physically attacks him, but he laughs at her and tells her to quit fighting; she's already hooked. He gives her a card reading "Club Fortuna" and tells her a guy named Dino is there waiting to give her drugs once she quits fighting her craving. Billie struggles with herself, wanting a fix but knowing she has to fight it. She hallucinates about Curtis again, and he taunts her, telling her she's a worthless junkie. Finally, she just collapses into bed shivering.

Austin wakes up to find Sami crying and watching old home videos of her father. She tells him she can't bear to lose him. Across the hall, Eric returns from a morning jog and tells Carrie he'll try to find out what's going on with Sami, but he can't make any promises about staying around Salem. Eric knocks on Austin's door and he and Sami reminisce about old times. Austin asks Eric to stay with Sami while he runs some errands. Sami tells Eric that someday Roman and Marlena could get back together. Eric tells her there are no fairy tale endings in this family. Sami forgets herself for a minute and declares that NO one is going to take Austin away from her. Eric looks at her suspiciously and asks who would? Is there another girl? Sami gets annoyed with him and says she's just babbling. Lucas knocks on the door and Eric treats him coldly. Lucas asks what is wrong, and Eric says he's just sizing him up because he's overprotective of Sami. Lucas says that's all right, that makes two of them. Eric relaxes a little and leaves them alone. Lucas tells Sami that Eric is trouble and he will soon figure out their scheme. But Sami is too stressed about Roman's fatal illness to concentrate, and Lucas knows he will have to pick up the burden of maintaining their schemes himself.

Carrie goes with Mike to take Roman's bandages off after leaving Eric at the apartment. In the room, she finds Marlena playing the loving wife while Kristen hangs all over John, using the excuse that they have to pretend for Roman. Marlena is clearly furious with Kristen, but can't say anything. Roman once again tells Marlena how much it means to him that she is by his side. Mike cuts away the bandages and Roman's face is clear and handsome. Marlena is momentarily overwhelmed, and John tells Roman he will give him some time with his family. Carrie hugs her father, too. Marlena and Carrie leave the room and Carrie comforts her, knowing how hard it is to hide feelings of love for someone. Marlena says that's okay, John has arranged a romantic private lunch in the garden for just the two of them. Carrie asks if there has been any news about treating bacterial infections, and Marlena mentions that there is a conference about to begin in L.A., but she is reluctant to leave Roman's side, as much as she wants to go. Carrie says that since nothing is happening with Austin anyway, she'll go in Marlena's place. Marlena is grateful, but warns her that some of the language is likely to be very technical - maybe Mike could go with her. Carrie asks Mike, but he says he's supposed to cover another doctor's patients while that doctor is on vacation. Carrie is disappointed, but determined to go alone. She goes back home to pack and says goodbye to Eric. She knocks on Sami's door to find Sami and Lucas, and tells them what she is doing. For once, Sami is grateful and wishes Carrie good luck. Lucas offers to take Carrie to the airport. Once Carrie is on the plane, she hears a man's voice say, "Is this seat taken, ma'am?" She looks up and is delighted to see Mike, who tells her that when he explained the situation to the doctor he was supposed to cover for, the doctor told him to go right ahead and he would find someone else to cover. Carrie is clearly happy to have Mike for company and support.

Marlena goes down to the garden to find a romantic setting for her and John. They dance close, reveling in their aloneness, but naturally, Kristen won't let them be happy for long. Behind their back, Kristen has told Roman that the romantic lunch is for him and Marlena, and she brings Roman down to the garden. When Roman sees John, he assumes that he and Kristen will want to have lunch with them. Kristen says that's a great idea and they all sit down together. When Roman and Marlena's song, "Up Where We Belong", comes on, Roman asks Marlena to dance. Marlena tries to back out, telling him he's not strong enough, but he says he'll lean on her as he always has. Then he encourages John to dance with Kristen, and naturally Kristen jumps at the chance. Kristen whispers to John that it's wonderful to be back in his arms again, but John tells her she is deluded and her manipulations will never make him love her again. Marlena and John look at each other wistfully as they dance with other partners.

Austin goes to see Kate and she tells him that he must take the chance of telling Carrie about the annulment papers, even if she still wants Mike. Austin says she's right, and thanks her for the advice. He heads home, unaware that another storm is brewing. After Lucas left with Carrie, Sami had decided to look for a photo album to show Roman and came across Austin's annulment papers. When Austin comes into the apartment, Sami is crying "No!" as she reads that her marriage has been dissolved. Sami begs Austin to tell her that it's not true, that their marriage is not over.
