Some very familiar faces are set to host the 47th annual Daytime Emmy Awards: the ladies of The Talk have revealed that they will be taking on hosting duties for this year's virtual primetime show.

The excitement of this year's Daytime Emmy Awards continues with the announcement that the ladies of The Talk will be the hosts of the upcoming extravaganza set to air via a two-hour special on CBS on Friday, June 26, at 8PM ET/PT. The formal announcement was made during today's episode of The Talk, which Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Marie Osmond co-host.

This is the first time that all of The Talk's on-air talent will be taking over Emmy hosting duties, but Sheryl Underwood has done so alongside Mario Lopez (ex-Dr. Christian Ramirez, The Bold and the Beautiful) on a few occasions in the past. As daytime fans know, The Talk has made it an annual tradition to host a day-after Daytime Emmys special honoring each year's winners -- which makes the show's panel of women the perfect fit to host the actual ceremony, as well.

As Soap Central previously reported, this year's Emmy ceremony will look different than ceremonies in years past due to the COVID-19 stay-at-home orders still in place that prohibit large gatherings. Nominees, recipients, and other special guests will be appearing from home. The awards presented during the CBS telecast will be from leading categories -- the daytime drama categories, talk shows categories, and more. Additional categories will be announced simultaneously on Twitter, and others will be presented in a separate ceremony in July.

"In these challenging times, daytime has been a primary influence in staying connected with its audience, entertaining them, and keeping them informed," said 47th Annual Daytime Emmys executive producer and director David McKenzie of Associated Television International. "We are honored to be a part of it. We are also excited for the challenge of introducing a new format that will celebrate the contributions of daytime television."
