Harry Lockhart, after winning a screen test owing to a casting director’s mistake of thinking of Harry’s public remorse as method acting, ends up with Perry Van Shrike to learn about a private investigation.
The film reveals tragic truths as Harry continues to go ahead with his fake identity as a private investigator and finally accepts his fate as a real one.
