Gamora and Nebula fought because of years of jealousy and anger. Nebula blamed Gamora for always competing to please their father Thanos. Gamora saw herself as someone trying to survive and protect her sister. Their fight was violent and emotional and ended when Gamora saved Nebula from dying in a crash. Nebula admitted she never wanted to kill Gamora and only wanted her to care. The fight shifted their relationship from rivals to allies. It gave both characters more depth and made their bond one of the most emotional parts of the series. It also set up their fight against Thanos.
