14. Brave ($237,283,207)

The first Pixar film with a female protagonist, Brave was a commercial success, raking in over $237 million domestically. The medieval Scotland setting followed Merida on her journey of self discovery and reconciliation with her mother. Lush animation and focus on family dynamics are highlights of the film, which earned critical acclaim and an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. The film was not in the line of storytelling Pixar had been doing till then, but showcased versatility on part of its creators.
