13) James Dean

James Dean was the quintessential icon of youthful rebellion and angst in Rebel Without a Cause (1955) and East of Eden (1955). His short career spanned just a few films, but he died tragically at 24 in a car accident. The death has been cemented as an iconic cultural icon. More than his work, his performances influence generations of actors to this day. He spent such a short time in Hollywood but showcased tremendous ability and an on-screen presence that still haunts us.
