River Phoenix was a talented actor whose best performances were in Stand by Me (1986) and My Own Private Idaho (1991). He died tragically at age 23 from a drug overdose outside the Viper Room in Hollywood. It shocked the entire world as this actor had so much talent. He was one of the brightest stars of his generation. His untimely death, apart from leaving a space in Hollywood, made the movies and performances he undertook even more poignant when appreciated in retrospect, marking how fragile fame is.
