Before becoming a famous actor, Burt Reynolds was a talented athlete. He played college football at Florida State University as a tailback but, sadly, due to knee injuries, his football career ended. He then turned to acting, initially doing small roles in plays and television. Eventually, he became a major film star with films like The Longest Yard and Smokey and the Bandit. He won a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for his role in Evening Shade.
