Based on the characters from Marvel comics, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is an upcoming superhero movie that will be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, the film will look into the origins of the team and their fight against the villain, Galactus. During the trailer's opening moments, Sue and Reed welcome their guests to the iconic Baxter Building, a mainstay in the comics. The home is an important place where the four congregate, and fans of the comics know that its inclusion in the movie makes for an iconic moment.

2. The trailer gives us the first look at the four’s primary villain

The intriguing trailer provides a peek into the main villain in the movie—Galactus. While the muscular villain with two horn-like protrusions is a central character in the comics, it is refreshing to see that the character rarely seen in live-action projects will finally be seen on the screen. While his face or voice is not revealed in the trailer, the back of his iconic pronged helmet is seen at the end of the trailer.

While Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards is shown writing complex equations and solving space travel-related scientific issues, the iconic comic book character’s superstrength to stretch his body is not shown in the trailer. Therefore, while the hero’s mental ability is shown, it seems that Marvel wants to perfect its CGI effects before it shows his physical ability.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who essays the role of The Thing in the movie, is famous for his role in the acclaimed series, The Bear. Therefore, at the beginning of the trailer, there is a hilarious scene where The Thing tastes a dish made by Herbie and gives his recommendations—which seems like a hilarious reference to Ebon’s famous role.

8. The trailer hints towards Ben Grimm’s tragedy

Even though The Thing is famous for his rock-like build, the trailer provides a sneak peek into who he was before tragedy struck him. In one scene, Ben watches footage of himself before he changed into a rock due to exposure to radioactivity. In the scene, he jokes that he is the best-looking pilot. 11. The trailer shows that the film is a part of an alternate universe of the main MCU

It had already been announced that the movie would be set in the 1960s and would, therefore, be a part of an alternate MCU universe. The trailer’s retro-futuristic style and different aspect ratio make this clear. Despite being in the 1960s, it has advanced technology, the Baxter building has 1960s décor, and there are era-specific costumes and music.
