Missing the same action-packed punch and empowering storyline as the first part, Mulan II (2004) didn't meet the high hopes of the audience. There was an evident drop in the overall animation quality. Even the background score and romantic subplot weren't nearly as entertaining as the original. While it is occasionally enjoyable, thanks to the humor of the supporting characters, ultimately, it couldn't deliver the same heartfelt impact.
