Despite his good intentions, Jack poses a significant threat mainly because of him being a Nephilim and possessing uncontrollable power. Dean understood the eventual danger that could occur because of Jack however, he was torn between his loyalty and the danger he represented. However, Dean’s eventual decision to not kill Jack showed his inner turmoil which resonated with the viewers.
