4) Robin Williams

Just like Jim Carrey, Robin Williams also was appreciated for his comedy. He even started his career as a stand-up comedian and then moved on to television shows like – Mork and Mindy, Good Morning Vietnam, and Mrs Doubtfire. To break the stereotype of comedy, he slowly started shifting to roles that were an amalgamation of drama and humor. These roles included movies like – Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, and The Fisher King. But he completely broke free of the mold with his complex, and much more challenging roles like those in movies such as Insomnia, One Hour Photo, and Patch Adams.
