Shia LaBeouf was fired from Olivia Wilde's Don't Worry Darling (2022) after reporting on-set tensions and behavior issues on set. LaBeouf initially claimed he left to focus on other projects as the schedules conflicted but Wilde clarified that he simply wasn't the right person for the job. However, his exit became some kind of media circus even after leaked text messages between LaBeouf and Wilde were published. Despite the controversy, LaBeouf continued with more personal projects such as Honey Boy (2019), which he used to reflect his turbulent childhood and life in Hollywood.
