Kidman started her film career as a young girl in Australia, landing her first part in Hollywood in Dead Calm (1989). Her career quickly took off with several successful films in the 90s, including Days of Thunder (1990), Far and Away (1992), and My Life (1993). She received an Oscar for her role in The Hours (2002).
Her younger sister, Antonia, has had some small success in Australia, particularly on a couple of TV shows. However, she has mainly focused her time on taking care of her two children.
