9. Walter watches Jane die

Walter White's moral downfall is obvious in the dreadful scene where he witnesses Jane's death. Walter stands by and does nothing to help Jane as she chokes on her vomit. The scene is harrowing because it reveals his complete detachment and willingness to let an innocent life be lost to maintain his control over Jesse. The silent, intense performance and the helplessness of the moment create a haunting and unforgettable image that underscores the depths of Walter's transformation into Heisenberg.
