13) Jacob’s Ladder

Jacob's Ladder, directed by Adrian Lyne, is a powerful, haunting tale that brings to light the painful aftermath of trauma and the challenging path to peace. From the very start, this film gets inside your head, leaving you uneasy throughout. The story follows Jacob Singer, a battle-worn Vietnam War vet, tortured by terrifying glimpses of his past and a mind slowly losing its grip on what’s real. However, the deeper you journey into his world, the more difficult it becomes to untangle the threads.
