This Peter Pan origin story, in which Hugh Jackman plays Blackbeard, did not exactly fly at the box office. With a $150 million budget, it raked in just $128 million worldwide. Critics panned the messy plot, inconsistent tone, and lack of magic. The casting choices also were criticized, most notably the controversy surrounding Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily.
