The Imperio curse, or the Imperius Curse, is the second of the three Unforgivable Curses, making its victim completely submissive and obedient. This means that a caster can dominate the actions of the victim against their will. This is famously used by darker wizards, such as Barty Crouch Jr. to further his means in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in manipulating Cedric Diggory, and other players in the Tri-wizard Tournament. As explored in Fantastic Beasts, where psychological conflicts wrestle the boundaries of free will from magical coercion, further spreading the implications of this rather disquieting curse.
