Five Feet Apart traces the romance between two young adults who have cystic fibrosis and end up in a forbidden relationship, for the illness demands they maintain a distance of around six feet. The film tries to present the emotional struggle that the two youngsters face in such a situation, with the reality in the back of their minds that their love may be shortlived. In the end, Five Feet Apart highlights how fragile love and life can be, and how longing and sacrifice often become inevitable in certain relationships.
