The story revolves around two teenagers struggling with their internal demons. Violet Markey and Theodore Finch find companionship in each other, and the strength to fight against their problems. Their relationship grows as they steer complicated lives, mental health issues, and traumas, and they find hope and understanding in each other, in the process. However, Finch's life is not fated to have a happy end due to his battle against depression. A devastating ending is in store for the two, with the film underlining the realities of mental illness and how such a condition could cloud the brightest of bonds.
