The phenomenal transformation of Lil' Kim has been the subject of endless debates on issues of cosmetic surgery and self-perception. She has had several nose jobs as well as skin-lightening treatments, among others, that drastically changed her image. Her surgeries have repeatedly been associated with her low self-esteem and societal expectations about beauty. However, despite the numerous denouncements, Lil' Kim has never discussed fully the issue of her surgeries. Instead, she emphasizes her music career and becomes the pioneer of this new era in the rap industry while redefining beauty on her terms.
