The film is filled with action sequences, bombastic dialogues, and interesting characters.
2) Born on the Fourth of July (1989)
Born on the Fourth of July quintessentially qualifies to be a part of the 4th of July movies. The film juggles different genres like anti-war, biographical, and drama. Throughout the film, we see Kovic's journey from childhood to joining the defence forces and eventually getting paralyzed during the Vietnam War.
3) The Six Triple Eight (2024)
The Six Triple Eight is the most recent film in this list. This war drama focuses on an all-female and black battalion called the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, which was active during the Second World War. Tyler Perry has written and directed this film, and it stars Kerry Washington and Ebony Obsidian among others. Due to its theme and storyline, it's a perfect addition to the 4th of July movies list and to enjoy on Independence Day.
4) Da 5 Bloods (2020)
Da 5 Bloods remains the last film of Chadwick Boseman before he passed away. But that is not the only reason you should be watching this Spike Lee war drama. It focuses on veterans of the Vietnam War who return to that country in search of some remains as well as a treasure they had buried during the war. It's funny, tragic, and engaging throughout and should not be missed.
5) Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood (2022)
Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood is an animated film written, co-produced, and directed by Richard Linklater.
