Jason Statham movies promise action, gunfights, and well-choreographed physical fight sequences. The English actor started out with comedy films and later did supporting roles in action flicks like Ghosts of Mars and Turn It Up. He subsequently starred as the protagonist in action films and continues to do so.
Since he has a long career, it is not easy to determine which of his films are worth watching. Here is a curated list of five films that every Statham fan needs to watch. These titles are from different genres, including Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

1) Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998)
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels started it all, as it was the first of the Jason Statham movies. This Guy Ritchie-directed black comedy crime film, released in 1998, is about a man who gangs up with his friend to clear a debt that he owes to a crime lord. It was a critical and commercial success and launched Statham's career. The film is available to watch on Prime Video.
2) Transporter 3 (2008)
Any list of Jason Statham movies won't be complete without Transporter 3. The third entry in the action thriller franchise saw Statham reprising his role as Frank Martin. Directed by Olivier Megaton, it became the highest-grossing hit in the franchise. The film can be viewed on Prime Video and Apple TV. If you want to understand the storyline, it would be advisable to also watch the first two installments.
3) Crank (2006)
Crank focuses on a hitman who is poisoned, and needs to keep his adrenaline rate high in order to keep his heart pumping. Statham is once again cast in an action role, and the film keeps everyone on the edge. Netflix is currently streaming the film. The success of Crank led to a sequel called Crank: High Voltage.
4) The Expendables (2010)
The Expendables is the first in the action franchise and has Statham starring as Lee Christmas. He is part of a mercenary group that is assigned to overthrow a dictator. The film, co-written and directed by Sylvester Stallone, was a critical and commercial success and kick-started a franchise. It brought back several yesteryear action stars to share the screen space together. The film can be enjoyed on Peacock.
5) The Beekeeper (2024)
In The Beekeeper, Statham plays the role of a former government hitman turned beekeeper. His quiet life changes after his landlady becomes a phishing victim. He then sets out to take revenge. This David Ayer-directed film was released in 2024 by Amazon MGM Studios and ended up grossing $162.6 million at the box office.
Some honorable mentions besides these titles would be A Working Man, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, The Italian Job and In the Name of the King.
