Marlon Brando's film career has spanned over four decades, if we exclude the time he took a break from acting, which was from 1980 to 1989. However, he had been on the stage for around six years before that, appearing in plays like I Remember Mama (1944), A Flag Is Born (1946), Arms and the Man (1953), and more.

Brando has appeared in 42 feature films, two of which were unreleased, including Divine Rapture (1996) and Big Bug Man (2004). Every time he was on the screen, the audience almost threw themselves towards him, especially when it came to his performances, like in The Godfather (1972).

The veteran actor also appeared in a few TV shows, including Actors Studio (1949), Come Out Fighting (1950), and Roots: The Next Generations (1979). He is among the few actors to have won it all: The Oscar, the Emmy, and the Golden Globe.

Let's take a look at some of his movies that we believe people should watch at least once in their lifetime.

Like the above, this Marlon Brando movie is said to be one of the greatest films ever made in the history of cinema. You have to watch this one for a couple of reasons: One is that it is considered Francis Ford Coppola's magnum opus, and another is for Brando's portrayal of strong and determined Colonel Kurtz, who is accused of murder in it.

The Wild One (1953)

The Wild One saw the veteran actor give the fans a character that would later become a cultural icon. He plays Johnny Strabler, a man who led an outlaw biker gang called The Black Rebels Motorcycle Club. This is also considered the first film that examined motorcycle gangs. If you have watched the popular Kurt Sutter show Sons of Anarchy (2008-2014), we can assure you that it will keep you hooked to the screen.

The Godfather (1972)

What list of Marlon Brando films doesn't have The Godfather in it? This is perhaps the actor's strongest performance in his career, where he played patriarch Vito Corleone of the Corleone family. If you think Vin Diesel's character in the Fast and Furious films is the one about family, see Vito Corleone on screen first, and you will know who is more concerned when it comes to family.

A Streetcar Named Desire (1951)

It was Marlon Brando's second feature film only but that gave him the room for his first Oscar nomination. Not just that, A Streetcar Named Desire was the film that gave the actor a major push in Hollywood. Interestingly, while Brando portrayed Stanley Kowalski in the film, he also played it in the 1947 Broadway play by Tennessee Williams, who originally wrote it.
