Even his name comes as something heavy and bulky. Someone who would punch a hole in a wall like it's cardboard. Over the years, Tom Hardy has gone from a skinny clone of Captain Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: Nemesis to the heavy, mask-wearing supervillain in The Dark Knight Rises.
But his role as Alfie Solomons is on another level. That character appears mental and badass at the same time. He knows his stuff, he doesn't give a damn about anything, and he is irritating at times, but all in all, he is one of the best characters in Peaky Blinders.
With Alfie Solomons in mind, we thought of looking into a range of Tom Hardy movies to see if there are any characters that resonate with this gangster persona. We couldn't find the exact match, but we did find some of the films where he carried those characteristics in his role. Let's look at those flicks, and you can tell us in the comments what you think.
Tom Hardy movies that carry his Alfie Solomons-like persona
5. The Dark Knight Rises

We often talk about Heath Ledger's Joker in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, and it is perhaps the best villain to have ever appeared on the screen. However, Tom Hardy's Bane wasn't a lesser one. He was a madman, quite like Alfie Solomons, who appears to be childlike but invokes the same fear in his enemies as Solomons did.
4. Legend

Legend is the only one among all the Tom Hardy movies where he was on double duty as Ronald and Reggie Kray. Now, Reggie Kray is classy, and his brother Ronald Kray is just badass. He has some mental issues, but like Alfie, he doesn't give a damn about anything. Not even when he walks into a bar and just headshots George Cornell. That guy's got no chill.
3. Capone

Tom Hardy played the notorious Al Capone in Capone, though the film focuses more on the gangster's final days. He isn't at his peak and is suffering from Dementia, a syndrome that causes a decline in general cognitive abilities. When you look at his character here, you certainly find him giving off those Alfie Solomons vibes at times, but he isn't as humorous as the Peaky Blinders' character is.
2. Stuart: A Life Backwards

Now, this Tom Hardy role is about a modern-day criminal, though he doesn't come across as scary or bulky like Alfie Solomons. But just watch him making a sandwich; you will see that this guy, too, has no chill and is just a cool savage.
1. Lawless

After analyzing several Tom Hardy movies, the actor's role as Forrest Bondurant comes the closest to his Alfie Solomons persona. Just think of Alfie Solomons as a normal guy instead of a savage, and you will have Forrest from Lawless. It isn't every day you see a guy's throat split open, and the next day he is sitting out there talking to his brother with a stitched throat. Well, Alfie survived a bullet through his face, too.
