7 scary moments from #Alive
7) The city in chaos at the beginning of #Alive

The most horrifying moment was shown at the beginning of #Alive when Joon-woo encounters the beginning of the outbreak. Everyone is seen running to save themselves from the infected, but in the chaos, it is not easy to see who is infected and who isn’t, making the scene more terrifying.
The scariest moment of the scene was when Joon-woo noticed a mother with a meat cleaver in her hand and her daughter slowly approaching her. Both the mother and daughter slowly approach each other and hug. Just then, the daughter begins biting her mother’s neck, killing her. This scene depicted the severity of the outbreak and how no one is safe.
6) The policewoman being attacked by a group of infected

Another scene was when a single policewoman was trying to save herself by killing the infected. Joon-woo encounters the whole scene from his apartment. He sees the woman struggling when she runs out of bullets and is grabbed by one of the infected while she tries to reload her gun.
All of her attempts fail as several of the infected grab her and begin to push her across the parking lot. Just then, Joon-woo shouts from his apartment, grabbing their attention for a while, but they again push her and bite her, transforming her into one of them. The woman’s struggle and the moment where the camera shifts to show her point of view, where she sees a horde of infected waiting to grab her, is one of the most terrifying moments of #Alive.
5) Joon-woo’s mental breakdown on day 15

Day 15 of the outbreak begins with Joon-woo dancing in his apartment while listening to Beenzino’s Break. However, while the music plays, his mood keeps changing as he begins to cry. He later dreams of seeing his family, especially his mother, whom he has been missing since the beginning of the outbreak.
This is one of the most realistic moments of #Alive as Joon-woo has been living without communicating with anyone. He has no one to talk to, no food or water left, making him live in isolation, which ultimately affects his mental health.
4) Joon-woo going out of his home for the first time after the outbreak

After being holed up in his apartment for this long and going mad alone in #Alive, he gets out of his apartment in frustration and calls the infected to come to him. However, when he sees a horde of zombies, he panics and runs away to save his life.
After having a mental breakdown and seeing that he cannot go out and doesn’t want to be killed by the infected, he decides to hang himself. This is one of the signs that this life of fear and isolation has been suffocating for him, and he decides to give up and hang himself.
3) The infected remember some of the activities from their life

As the plot moves ahead, we learn more about the behavior of the infected. It is revealed that the zombies might have a heightened hearing sense but their vision is partially or completely gone.
However, one of the most terrifying things about the zombies in #Alive is how some of them have still retained some of the memory from their life as humans. Therefore, some of them can open doors and windows or even climb, making them more intimidating.
2) A zombie trying to climb through Kim Yoo-bin’s flat

Yoo-bin is the other survivor of #Alive, who stops Joon-woo from committing s*icide and provides him company, which they both needed in these times. She also gives him some of his food as he had run out of his supplies. To help them both, Joon-woo, with a newfound drive to stay alive, gets out of his apartment to gather some food for the two.
They then set up a zip line to share their supply and stay alive. However, this attempt brings a fatal situation in front of the two. Yoo-bin forgot to cut the rope that she had tied to her apartment to create the zip line, which is then found by an infected firefighter. Since he has retained some of his memory, he begins to climb using the rope, which sends the table in Yoo-bin’s apartment being pushed by the rope, knocking Yoo-bin out.
Joon-woo tries to distract the firefighter with his drone but fails. This is one of the most chilling moments where Yoo-bin lies unconscious, and the infected is on his way to her apartment.
1) The stranger locks Yoo-bin with his infected wife

Yoo-bin and Joon-woo plan to go to the eighth floor of his apartment building, as Yoo-bin has not noticed any infected going up there. They both jump out of their apartments, running towards Joon-woo’s building. The scene makes you hold your breath and hope both survive the horde of infected following them through the eighth floor.
They are saved by a stranger who brings them to his apartment. However, they find themselves in a more perilous situation when the man drugs them both and locks Yoo-bin in a room with a woman who is infected. The woman begins attacking Yoo-bin. That's when the man tells her through the locked door that that is his wife, and she hasn't eaten in days.
It becomes a tricky situation in the film #Alive when the only survivor they have found after a long time wants to kill them, depicting what desperation of trying to save or the guilt of not being able to do so can turn human beings into. The man doesn’t care about the lives of Joon-woo and Yoo-bin, but for his wife, who is already dead, depicting a shocking side of human beings, in times like these. They do survive in the end, but after almost losing hope as they get trapped on the rooftop until the rescue team saves them.
