The hunt for the next superspy is still on since Daniel Craig called it a day as the seventh James Bond after No Time to Die in 2021. A lot of actors have been speculated for the iconic role, from Idris Elba to Henry Cavill, and now Aaron Taylor-Johnson's latest move has created a buzz around him.

In a recent Instagram post, the Bullet Train actor has uploaded a new photo where he is seen wearing an Omega watch. This comes following his new partnership with the brand. His post reads,

"OMEGA welcomes Aaron Taylor-Johnson to our watchmaking home in Bienne. The actor and Golden Globe winner stepped into our watchmaking home for an exclusive tour, meeting the watchmakers behind our timepieces."

If you look at the comments section, it is rife with the terms "James Bond" and "007."

Currently, the next Bond movie is simply called James Bond 26, and no actor has been officially announced to play the role. Although Taylor-Johnson is among the top picks for the character, he once denied being the next 007 in 2023 when talking to Esquire.

The Swiss watchmaker came into existence in 1848, but it was in 1995 when its product made a debut in the spy franchise with GoldenEye, the first time when Pierce Brosnan wore the iconic tux.

It was the film's costume designer, Lindy Hemming, who decided the Omega Seamaster would be ideal for Brosnan's Bond. The actor sported the Omega Seamaster Professional 300M Ref. 2541.80 in the movie.

Brosnan was also said to have become fond of the watch and wore a similar one, Omega Seamaster Automatic Chronometer 300M Ref. 2531.80.00, in the next three films — Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999), and Die Another Day (2002).

When Daniel Craig replaced Brosnan as the the superspy. the brand on the hand remained the same. In Craig's first appearance as James Bond, he wore two different Seamasters: the Omega Seamaster 300M Co-Axial Ref. 2220.80.00 and the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Ref. 2900.50.91.

Seamaster Planet Ocean was his choice for the next two films, Quantum of Solace (2008) and Skyfall (2012). In these films he sported Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Co-Axial Chronometer Ref. 2201.50.00 and Omega Planet Ocean 600M Ref. 232.30.42.21.01.001. He also wore an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Midsize Chronometer Ref. 231.10.39.21.03.001 in Skyfall.

Daniel Craig was seen wearing Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Ref. 231.10.42.21.03.003 and Omega Seamaster 300 Ref. 233.32.41.21.01.001 in Spectre (2015) and Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Master Chronometer '007 Edition' in No Time to Die (2021).

We have seen an experienced superspy in the 27 Bond films that has been produced since 1962. From Sean Connery to Daniel Craig, they have been an established force, a force to be reckoned with. However, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, we could get into the story of a young Bond that tells how this force came to be.

Charlie Higson and Steve Cole have already given us a few stories based on Ian Fleming's character, including SilverFin, Hurricane Gold, and Shoot to Kill, among others. Taylor-Johnson might just be the right fit.
