Adam Sandler is bringing back the Gilmore days on Netflix with his sequel Happy Gilmore 2 on July 25. The actor is currently promoting the movie with his co-stars, including singer Bad Bunny, who plays the role of a caddy named Oscar. The duo appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers to speak of their new film and camaraderie.

During one point of the interview, Seth Meyers asked Sandler when he decided to onboard Bad Bunny into the movie. He asked,

"When did it dawn on you that Benito (Bad Bunny) had the comedy chops for a role like this?"

Sandler immediately responded that he saw him on Saturday Night Live. Bad Bunny has made frequent appearances on NBC's Comedy Sketch, including three times as a " musical guest" and once as a "host". Adam Sandler continued,

"When I saw you on Saturday Night Live, I was like, 'He's funnier than me?'"

To which Bad Bunny chuckled and responded there is "no way."

Adam Sandler is bringing his original team of Happy Gilmore together for its sequel, with newer additions of Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley, Bennie Safdie, and others. Sandler quipped about his co-actor, Bad Bunny and his decision of onboarding him to the comedy sequel.

In an earlier interview with Variety, Sandler revealed Bad Bunny's agent had reached out to him on multiple occasions. The former revealed excitement and was more than happy to onboard the pop star. He said,

“We said, ‘That’s a great idea,’ so that’s how it happened. He’s doing fine with or without me but I’m happy he’s in this, man.”

Fans and followers are familiar with Bad Bunny's comedic skills through SNL skits. In their interview with Seth Meyers, Bad Bunny also revealed his favourite performances on the NBC show, including "the Shrek one" and notably, the one with Pedro Pascal and Marcello Hernández. He said,

“That was epic for me and for the whole Latino community."

Adam Sandler is ready to bring his comedy to Netflix with the stellar cast of Happy Gilmore nearly 30 years later.
