All major reveals from the Superman trailer

James Gunn's Superman will work as a rehaul for the DC studio as it transitions from the DCEU to the DCU. The teaser trailer, which dropped in December 2024, showed how his contribution would affect the movie's look and feel. Unlike the dark DCEU movies, it promised a much more emotional journey for Superman.

1. The trailer gives a sneak peek into the Hammer of Boravia.

Hammer of Boravia is not a part of DC Comics, but a character specifically designed for this 2025 movie by James Gunn and his team. So, it becomes a fascinating addition to the forces that stand up against the Kryptonian hero throughout his journey.

Until now, fans had only seen a newspaper article about this character. However, the trailer finally shows what he will look like. Since its announcement, some people have been calling it DC's version of Marvel’s Juggernaut due to the notable similarities in their appearance.

2. It finally shows Metamorpho as a whole.

The teaser trailer showed only the face of Rex Mason / Metamorpho, played by Barry star Anthony Carrigan. However, the trailer shows him in his full form in a few clips, including one where he is in a lock-up next to the hero. It also shows the moment likely when Metamorpho realizes his potential.

Clark defends his stance even after Louis asks him about illegally entering a country, drawing the ire of the Secretary of Defence. This interaction is far from romantic, which is usually how people know Clark and Lois. So, it shows a welcome change to portray Superman as a fallible hero and shows Lois' strong-willed identity beyond being just Clark's romantic partner.

6. The Mighty Crabjoys band's poster appears for the third time in DCU.

An easter egg in this Superman trailer is the poster of The Mighty Crabjoys that appears in Clark Kent's room. It is a fictional band in the DC universe. Before this, it was also spotted in The Peacekeeper Season 2 trailer, besides Creature Commandos.
