Laura and Simon have been best friends since college. Over the years, they’ve realized their bond is more than platonic. Can they—and should they—risk everything to explore a love that has existed all along?
Let's explore the film's ending.
What is the plot of All of You?
All of You is about Laura (Imogen Poots) and Simon (Brett Goldstein), who have been best friends for years. Things change after they go through a test that determines soulmates. The revelation shakes their friendship.
How does All of You end?
Towards the end of All of You, Laura and Simon don't end up with each other. They meet after a while for a book read-up and decide to spend their weekend together. Around that time, Simon confesses to Laura that he regrets not sharing his feelings for her before the test.
After their weekend trip comes to an end, Laura says that they should go to California. The two try to imagine a life together, but realize that it might not be possible. Laura asks if she was a hindrance to him finding true love. In response, Simon reveals that his time with her has been one of the best moments of his life. As she waits for the cab, Laura tells him that she will miss him forever.
Both of them bid a final goodbye to each other with teary eyes. All of You ends with the two parting ways. The ending showcases the importance of our life choices and their timing, which determines a lot of things in life. Simon made a mistake by paying for Laura's test before even telling her about his feelings. But when he actually did, it was too late.
In an interview with Film Hound, director William Bridges spoke about the idea of soulmates that is explored in the film.
"You know what? I've asked myself that a lot. Why have I done this a lot? I think the answer is relationships; it's the perfect premise to allow you to talk about relationships as you understand them. For me, good sci-fi is always stuff that talks about us now, and you take an element of the world that we live in, and you change a little bit of it, and you say, well, how does that put pressure on stuff that we understand? I think that's it. I think it's just being interested in relationships and telling those kinds of stories. It was just one of those premises that allowed me to do that. So I stuck with it."
All of You will start streaming on Apple TV+ from September 26.
