What is the plot of All of You?
All of You focuses on two people, Laura and Simon, who have been friends for several years since meeting in college. After a point, they realize that their bonding might be more than platonic friendship. That's when they decide to explore the possibility of love between them. The film takes place in a near future and also has a scientific device thrown into the mix, which can find out a person's real soulmate through a test.
Brett Goldstein and William Bridges spoke to Variety right before the film's TIFF premiere last year. During the conversation, Bridges said:
“We wanted to tell a relationship story and we found that by changing one thing in our world, it allowed us to unlock people’s perception of what true love is, and that was very rich territory for a love story.”
Bridges revealed that the idea was conceived as a short film, as there was no financier attached.
“At the time, we didn’t have funding for anything. We wrote it for ourselves, to get to the end and see if there’s a movie in it.”
Goldstein revealed that the story was in the making for ten years and called it his "baby."
Poots, who was cast after a Zoom meeting with Goldstein, said:
“It helps the story have pace. There’s something interesting about seeing the high-drama moments — moments where it feels more stylized.”
The film is shot by Benoit Soler while Victoria Boydell serves as the editor. The music is composed by Ian Hultquist and Sofia degli Alessandri. It will be released theatrically and digitally on September 26, 2025
