Melania is an upcoming documentary film in the political genre.
It's produced and directed by Brett Ratner. The film is his first directorial venture since 2017. It will be released by Amazon MGM Studios on January 30, 2026. Here's the official synopsis as per IMDb:
"An intimate chronicle offers a rare glimpse into the life of Melania Trump, exploring her role as First Lady and her relationship with the former president."
The film focuses on Melania Trump as her husband, Donald Trump, is about to take the oath as the President of the United States for a second time.

Trailer of Melania documentary is out
On December 17, 2025, Amazon MGM Studios released the trailer for Melania. The one-minute, seven-second video provides a glimpse into the documentary. It begins with Mrs. Trump saying, "Here we go again," as she prepares herself for Donald Trump's swearing-in for the second time.
We then see her sitting in a corner as the President says that his proudest legacy would be as a peacemaker. Mrs. Trump then adds, "peacemaker and unifier." We then get montages of her dress being made for the inauguration day. One clip showcases her asking the security person if it's safe. To which he responds that it is.
"Everyone wants to know, so here it is", says Mrs. Trump in the trailer. The video concludes with her calling her husband to congratulate him on the big win. He poses a question to her, "Did you watch it?" To which Mrs. Trump responds, " I did not. Yeah, I will see it on the news."
The trailer's tagline reads, "Witness history in the making. 20 days to become the first lady of the United States of America." It refers to the documentary following her in the 20 days leading up to Trump's swearing in as the President for a second time.
The official description of the film mentions that the crew had "unprecedented access" for 20 days with the team. This means that viewers will get to see several moments that are generally not known to the public about the country's first couple.
The makers capture as she plans the inauguration, struggles with the transitions inside the White House and balances her public and personal life.
