Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be going to be released in theatres on December 18, 2026, and Marvel has now released a new teaser featuring Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth), which gives us a look at the character in the upcoming film and what's at stake for him.Chris Hemsworth was confirmed to be starring in Avengers: Doomsday back in March 2025, and the new teaser reveals that his character Thor is now not only the God of Thunder and an Avenger, but also a father. Thus, while Thor is returning to fight"one more enemy",he has to make sure he has all the strength he needs and defeats the enemy because he has to go back home to his daughter, Love.Thor's return in Avengers: DoomsdayAvengers: Doomsday will introduce us to Doctor Doom (played by Robert Downey Jr.), who is the tyrannical ruler of Latveria. In the film, the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and the X-Men team will come together to face the common enemy, Doctor Doom. The new teaser released by Marvel shows us Thor preparing to face Doom, which includes asking his father, Odin, for strength, so that he can defeat Doom and come back to his daughter, Love. The teaser opens with Thor saying,"Father... all my my life, I have answered every call to honor, duty, to war. But now fate, has given me something I never sought... a child, untouched by the storm."At the end of Thor: Love and Thunder, Gorr was finally killed by Thor and Jane Foster. Three of them were then taken to the Eternity realm, where Gorr could have his final wish granted. Gorr's wish was to kill all Gods, but as Gorr's main source of pain and grief was the death of his daughter, Thor managed to convince Gorr to ask for his daughter's life to be returned instead of the death of all Gods. Thor then left Gorr to attend to Jane, who unfortunately could not battle her cancer, and died in his arms. Gorr, moved by Thor and Jane's love, decided to wish for the revival of his daughter. That wish was granted, and as Gorr dies from his curse, he requested Thor to take care of Love.Thor accepted the request and adopted Love (played by India Rose Hemsworth), and decided to raise her as his own. He is thus now a devoted father who loves to tuck in his daughter before bed. While Thor does want to fight Doom, he also wants to return home to his daughter, so that he can give her an upbringing he wished he had. Thor is seen kneeling on the ground, holding on to Mjölnir, and asking Odin for strength, saying,"Lend me the strength of the All-Fathers so that I may fight once more. Defeat one more enemy and return home to her. Not as a warrior, but as warmth. To teach her not battle, but stillness. The kind I never knew. Please father heed my words."
