Blake Lively is getting the support of her latest film, Another Simple Favor's director, Paul Feig, as the latter is speaking up about the rumors surrounding Lively and her legal battle with Justin Baldoni. After the release of her last film, It Ends With Us, the actress found herself in the middle of chaos as many pointed out the film's tone deaf ways of promoting it and the growing feud between Lively and Baldoni, who starred in and directed the film.
The negative press continued with Another Simple Favor, as Lively and fellow actress Anna Kendrick fell victim to speculations about their alleged "feud," despite many reports squashing these rumors. As of now, Feig, who has previously worked with Blake on A Simple Favor, is speaking up in support of the actress and how wonderful of a collaborator she is.
In an interview with Esquire, the director stated,
“Blake is an amazing collaborator, so when I read people’s misconceptions about how movies are made, it’s just frustrating for me. Every star I’ve worked with works this way. The idea that a star just shows up and you go ‘Here’s the script’ – please point me to one movie star who works that way. So when the gang on the internet get [up in arms] about something, it’s just like, guys, you don’t know what you’re talking about. I love working with Blake – she’s just the best.”
He then commented on the outrage Blake has been receiving online after the release of both films, as he added,
“Outrage is the most boring emotion humans have these days – when it’s towards something meaningful, that’s great. But people get outraged at everything. It’s like, this is what you’re angry about? There’s other things to be outraged about – please, go and help make the world a better place.”
More about Blake Lively's legal troubles

Blake Lively's lawsuit revolves around a dispute with her It Ends With Us co-production star and director, Justin Baldoni. It all started when Lively filed a lawsuit for sexual harassment and a hostile work environment in December 2024, stating Baldoni made her feel uncomfortable while filming and that Baldoni retaliated against her when she would voice concerns. In response, Baldoni filed a $400 million countersuit in mid-January 2025, claiming Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist defamed him and committed civil extortion by trying to ruin his reputation and take over the creative control of the film through a coordinated attack on his reputation.
The feud took center stage on social media as many chose sides, and both stars continued to voice their stances. Baldoni also released textual evidence in his defense, while Lively's reps continued to deny all the allegations and emphasized that her claims were rooted in real experiences on set.
Another Simple Favor is now available to watch on Prime Video.
