We have a new update on Avengers: Doomsday, people. Winter Soldier is stepping into Doom’s lair in the last month of spring. Sebastian Stan, who plays the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, addressed this as he sported a shaved-head look at the Thunderbolts* LA premiere.

There, he had a chat with Extra’s Terri Seymour for just over three and a half minutes, where he said, that,

"I think I'm hearing maybe at some point in May I'll be going over there."

Other than him, the rest of the Thunderbolts* members—including Wyatt Russell, Florence Pugh, Lewis Pullman, David Harbour, and Hannah John-Kamen—will reprise their roles from the film. The same was confirmed during the Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement.

All in all, twenty-six new names were there, plus Robert Downey Jr., who was brought in as the MCU’s multiversal threat, Victor Von Doom, at the San Diego Comic-Con last year.

Day one of Avengers: Doomsday began a couple of days ago when the Russo Brothers shared a chair with the name “Victor Von Doom” written on it. Maybe that’s the front of that same last chair Downey was sitting on to conclude that slow-burning announcement.

And that’s all, folks! The Russos aren’t giving anything away other than that—not even to the actors.

David Harbour, who plays Red Guardian in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films, talked to GamesRadar+, where he said:

"I kind of knew I was gonna be in it, but I didn't know anybody else was gonna be in it. I don't have a story, I don't have a script, anything like that."

Sad!

But a lot has happened before this already. For example, somebody leaked a set photo of a man in a suit standing in front of a door, opening it. The door’s green, and the man’s attire resonates as that of an employee. That sparked a buzz among the fans.

Fans are convinced it’s Tom Cruise—maybe it’s the walk, maybe it’s the swagger.

A lot of rumors have aired before—especially around Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), where Cruise, who is all set for The Final Reckoning, was said to appear as an alternate version of Iron Man and a part of the Illuminati, whom Wanda brutally murdered singlehandedly. We sure are glad he wasn’t present at the moment.

Anyway, an interesting update surfaced just in the second week of this month. A news channel on YouTube dubbed UnBoxPHD released a real-time video of a bird’s-eye view showcasing the Avengers: Doomsday set.

We can easily see the parted regions that look like a map from Adventure Island 2, just with craters. Something big is happening there for sure.

Doctor Doom's first steps might come along the new Fantastic Four film

After Thunderbolts* has been released in a couple of days, it’s time for the MCU's first family to step in, though in a retro-futuristic alternate reality. But an interesting part here is that we might see Doctor Doom in the mid-credits or post-credits scene.

That spread like wildfire when industry scooper Jeff Sneider mentioned this possibility in the edition of his newsletter, The InSneider, published on July 29, 2024. There are all the reasons in the world to believe that, the major one being Doctor Doom as the archenemy of the Fantastic Four.

If that happens, we must get ready for a wave of excitement exploding from fans across all the theaters around the globe.
