Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires reimagines the caped crusader like never before, trading Gotham’s alleys for the temples and battlefields of 16th-century Mesoamerica. The story follows Yohualli Coatl, a young Aztec boy whose life is shattered when Spanish conquistadors murder his father.

Driven by vengeance and destiny, he transforms into the masked vigilante we know, only this time, he’s fueled by ancient rituals and divine wrath. The animated film drops on Max this fall, directed by Juan Meza-León. With voice talents like Jay Hernandez and Horacio García Rojas, this is Batman retold through blood, myth, and empire. Here's everything you need to know about the project.

Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires throws capes and cowls into the chaos of conquest. Horacio García Rojas leads as Yohualli Coatl, an Aztec noble shattered by the murder of his father at the hands of Hernán Cortés. But grief sharpens him. Cloaked in shadows and obsidian, he becomes Batman, a vigilante priest by day and a masked warrior by night, stalking the empire that tore his family apart.

Omar Chaparro played Joker. Once a serene priest, he hears the whispers of a bloodthirsty god and spirals into madness, carving himself into the Joker with ritual and ruin.

Álvaro Morte’s Cortés is a gold-drunk devil in armor, reimagined as Two-Face after a failed assassination scars him and sends him flipping fate like a cursed coin. This is Batman bathed in ancient ritual and revenge, where justice is carved into stone and is reimagined in a more ancient way.
