Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Step Out Together with Family

Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner and their younger children went to see a movie on Friday, September 5, 2025. The rare family outing saw the divorced couple in casual wear as they smiled at each other while chatting.

Ben Affleck, 53, donned a navy hooded jacket, a white tee underneath and tan pants as he strode ahead of his kids, Seraphina, 16 and Samuel, 13. Garner opted for a button-down sweater and straight-leg blue jeans. Seraphina mimicked her mother’s casual vibe in stylish jeans, a dark brown jacket and a striped tee.

Her younger brother wore a short-sleeved grey shirt and black pants. The couple’s first child, Violet, was absent from the outing because she had resumed at Yale weeks earlier. The former couple met up with Ben Affleck's mom, who waited for them at the entrance to the cinema.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner last met up for a family event in July 2025 for a Red Sox game. The Gone Girl actor, who recently divorced his wife, Jennifer Lopez, wore a green ball cap at the game and looked in good spirits as he chatted up Garner, who wore a ponytail and a striped T-shirt.

The former couple met on a movie set in 2000, but they didn’t get together until 2004, when they made their first public appearance at a Red Sox game. They got engaged at Garner’s 33rd birthday party in 2005 and married in the same year.

It was revealed that the couple was expecting soon after. They welcomed their first daughter, Violet Anne, in December 2005. In January 2009, the celebrity couple had their second child, Seraphina Rose Elizabeth.

In February 2012, the couple welcomed the third addition to the family, Samuel Garner. Some days after their 10th anniversary in June 2015, the couple announced that they were divorcing in a joint statement:

"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children, whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."

The couple have continued to co-parent their three kids and show support for each other as friends.
