Bootleg Rascal have officially announced a 2026 Australian tour. The upcoming run has been designed to support the release of their new self-titled album. The tour will follow a relatively long global tour cycle that took the band across Europe, New Zealand, and multiple festivals.

Bootleg Rascal are one of the most beloved acts in Australia's independent music scene. The band's new album, Bootleg Rascal, is their first full-length release of new tracks since Anonimo in 2018. Throughout 2025, they teased the project with singles such as Reasons and Street Shark.

Bootleg Rascal comprises Jimmy Young and Carlos Lara. Their new tour announcement follows the BOOTY BLOCK PARTY run and multiple international dates.

Bootleg Rascal announced the upcoming 2026 AU run via an official Instagram post, captioning:

"‘Reasons’ AU Jan/ Feb Tour - QLD, NSW, WA, NT, SA, VIC and TAS - lesssgo! 🌮🍹"

Bootleg Rascal also shared a note about their latest album. Their post read:

"This album feels like it’s been 12 years in the making. All the gigs we have played all around the world, all the songs we have written, all the adventures we’ve shared, are all building blocks of this latest record. It’s the first proper full-length album of new songs we’ve released since ‘Anonimo’ back in 2018."

The post continued:

"I think this record is a great representation of the band as a whole. I think if you have ever had fun at a live show or enjoyed listening to our music over the years, you will love this record. That's also why we felt it was fitting to make this one self-titled. You never know when your last record will happen, but if this is it, I can die a happy man. Street Shark is one of Bootleg Rascal's latest singles. Jimmy Young recently opened up about the track, stating:

"'Street Shark' feels like one of our more sombre tracks. It touches on self-reflection and those moments where you might feel like a bit of a loner or even a bit of a piece of sh*t. But it’s not all negative, it is also about taking the good with the bad and making the best out of hard situations. It is about accepting yourself for who you are, while feeling nostalgic about the good times that have passed. All those themes are tied up in the song."
