Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere is about to be released on October 24, 2025, but the movie had a special screening in New York at the Alice Tully Hall on September 28 for the New York Film Festival, where Bruce Springsteen was in attendance.

The Dancing in the Dark singer had a lot to say about Jeremy Allen White, who plays the veteran singer on screen. He states,

“I want to thank everybody for coming out to see our film tonight and our crew, a great cast...Jeremy Allen White for putting his whole heart and soul into the part, just such a wonderful job, and for playing a much better looking version of me...I'm really thankful for that.”

Therefore, Bruce Springsteen joked about White playing a “much better looking version” of him and noted the actor’s efforts.

Jeremy Allen White also told PEOPLE at the premiere that he asked a lot of “direct” questions to the singer to learn about him for the role, and Springsteen was “so honest” about the whole thing. White states that he asked questions about why this particular period was important for the singer and how his whole journey had been.

The Bear actor further stated that Springsteen even mentioned having a panic attack and how the whole experience was for him.

“He talked to me about a panic attack he'd had, and he described it to me as in this moment he felt like he was a voyeur in his own life. He was an observer. He felt so outside of himself, and he told me that story, and that's a feeling I'm familiar with.”

White states that even he tries to find a “presence” in his life, and with Springsteen’s story about being vulnerable, the actor was able to explore “a tether”. Bruce Springsteen also thanked other cast members and the producers and directors of the movie.

During the movie’s screening at the Telluride Film Festival, a Q&A panel included Bruce Springsteen, Jeremy Allen White, and others from the movie.

When asked about how White was able to deliver the same vocal “tone” as the one by Springsteen, the actor notes that he spoke to director Scott Cooper about not knowing how to sing or even play the guitar. However, Cooper was confident, and White notes that he had

“five, six months to get ready, and I had a great team of people to help me get there”.

The actor also revealed that while recording the Nebraska album at RCA in Nashville, he experienced a “breakthrough” moment that boosted his confidence significantly.

The actor also talked about how it was challenging to replicate the singer’s voice on Born in the USA track, and he eventually “got a migraine and...lost my voice”. However, White also noted that after the recording, Springsteen commented that he had finally gotten his voice.
