More films based on video games will arrive next year, beginning with Return to Silent Hill and Iron Lung in January. Both will be horror films, and we are here to talk about the latter. The film recently released its final blood-soaked trailer, offering more details about what to expect.

Mark Fischbach, a YouTuber known as Markiplier, is directing, writing, and starring in the film. As of this writing, nine names have been attached to the film's cast, which we will discuss in this article in a while.

As for the runtime, it is likely to be 95 minutes long, according to its Wikipedia page. Though, according to Fischbach, the film was "officially done" in June 2024. He has been involved with the process of negotiations for its release.

When will Iron Lung be released?

As of this writing, Markiplier is set for release on January 30, 2026.

Five more films will be released on the same day as Iron Lung. One of them is another horror flick directed by Sam Raimi called Send Help. While in the Markiplier film, there will be one man stuck on a mission in the submarine. The Raimi film will have two people stranded on an island.

Other films releasing on January 30, 2026, include Shelter, The Moment, Moses the Black, and Silver Star.

However, these are just a few films coming in January 2026. There are some highly anticipated movies that fans are waiting for. We have already mentioned Return to Silent Hill.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is probably the most anticipated movie of all in the month. It's a sequel to Danny Boyle's 28 Years Later, the third film in the popular horror franchise that began in 2003.

What is the Iron Lung film about?

There's a website attached to the film where its synopsis reads,

"An ocean of blood. The only hope left after the Quiet Rapture. In the rusting halls of crumbling space stations, the last remnants of humanity craft a submarine to explore the bleeding depths... and weld one soul inside to pilot it.
