Clown in a Cornfield is all about Frendos, who are not-so-friendly clowns from the town of Kettle Springs. The Eli Craig film was made on a $1 million budget and opened with $3.6 million on its first weekend at the domestic box office. Critics have praised it, as the Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes shows a 74% approval score. Fans? They were slightly less happy, as the Popcorn Meter shows a 64% approval as of this writing.
While the film appears to be doing well, it features a number of songs that fans who’ve watched it might be wondering about—maybe trying to confirm if that song was that song? Or maybe not, and you already know exactly what it was.
Whatever the case, we’ll give you a list anyway. There are 13 songs, and we’ll provide a one-liner (or so) about the scene in which each one is played in Clown in a Cornfield.
All songs featred in Clown in a Cornfield
What Do I Owe by Dummy
The song is the first one that plays in the film and kind of serves as an introduction to what we’re supposed to expect in the story. All of it is taking place in the ’90s.
I Ain't No Joke by Eric B. & Rakim
The 1987 song plays in the present when Quinn (Katie Douglas) and her father Glenn (Aaron Abrams) are on the road. You can hear it on the radio—just before the daughter turns it off. Kids today!
Get Out The Way by Mother Mother
Now the father and daughter are in town, and you can hear this song in Clown in a Cornfield as Glenn unpacks stuff in their new home.
If I Look Fine by Roet
The father and daughter are together in their vehicle again when this song plays—but this time, the girl has caused some trouble, and the father is driving her back.
Bye Bye by Haiku Hands & Ribongia
This song pops up when Matt Trent (Alexandre Martin Deakin) is doing some muscle pumping in his garage. However, this strengthful fella still can’t outshine a clown. That’s a shame.
A Thousand Little Fires (feat. Definitely Dean) by Anthony Lazaro
Now that Quinn is grounded after the trouble she caused, all she can do is text her friends in Clown in a Cornfield. While she does that, we can hear the song play in the background.
Not About You by Haiku Hands
While texting, her friend asks the rebellious girl to sneak out of the house. Though reluctant, she finally decides to do it as this song plays in the scene.
How U Feelin by Kabwasa
How U Feelin? Oh, she’s feelin’ real good after sneaking out of her house. Quinn is enjoying the party now in Clown in a Cornfield, despite being grounded.
Wicked and Weird by Buck 65
And now she and her friend Cole (Carson MacCormac) are dancing to this song in Clown in a Cornfield.
Heavyweight by Ruckspin & Lynxegirl
This one plays when Quinn and Cole are about to get cozy together—or at least the former wants to with the latter.
The Force by Nicholas Hill, Glenn Herweijer, & Ben Sumner
Interestingly, The Force plays in Clown in a Cornfield after the ‘Frendo force’ is over and the survivors save themselves from that facility that showed them the horrors.
Keep Up by Good Neighbours
All the bad that was supposed to happen has happened in Clown in a Cornfield, and now this song serves as background melody as Quinn bids farewell to her friends.
Won't Take Me Alive by Dirty Honey
That is simply something you'll hear at the film's end credits.
