Rihanna was recently at Mariah Carey's Vegas residency show. During the concert, she stood up and was seen dancing to Carey's music, waving her hands around. This led to her being yelled at by an audience member to sit down. Rihanna listened to the audience member and got down and apologized for standing up as well.

Now, netizens on the internet have reacted to this moment, taking to social media to express their views. Some have agreed with the audience member, while others have taken the side of Rihanna:

"Concert etiquette is for celebs too idc"

One netizen stated:

"But she was obstructing the view.. what will you have the audience do?"

Another netizen added:

"It really shows that no matter how famous you are, if you're blocking the view at a concert, someone is going to lose their cool!"

One commenter opined:

"You should be able to tell anyone if you can't see."

Another X user said:

"It don’t look like she was blocking much of the view.. let her enjoy the show!"

One reactor said:

"Rihanna handled that moment with grace and confidence proving true stars shine no matter the distractions around them."

Another reactor opined:

"Standing at a concert is not rude. If you go to a concert and sit, that’s on you. She was standing on her chair though, which is rude."

Mariah Carey ended her Christmas Time in Las Vegas residency on December 13, 2025. The singer started her residency back in November. It was held at the Park MGM in the city.

Rihanna has a cordial relationship with Mariah Carey

Rihanna has had a cordial and friendly relationship with Mariah Carey. She has attended other concerts in Carey, including her Christmas concert in 2024. At that concert, Carey signed the singer's chest in a moment that has since gone viral on social media.

Carey later talked about that moment, stating in an interview with People Magazine:

"I was like, ‘You cannot call me a diva again because I'm literally backing down the stairs. That was hilarious. I had heard that Rihanna was coming to the show, but I didn't think she was going to be in the actual crowd. She was fun."

The singer covered Mariah Carey's Hero song at a high school talent show in 2003, months before the singer was discovered by Evan Rogers. The video first resurfaced in 2012 and has been up on YouTube ever since.
